Cliveden

The showflat for Cliveden was posh, to say the least. Located at the upmarket Grange Road, a stone's throw to the shopping belt of Orchard Road, the address itself was targeted at the very elite and well-heeled.

In my opinion, the decor was totally befitting the targeted market. Launched at the height of the property boom 2007-2008, the opening of the showflat invited much interest from the rich both from local and overseas buyers, as well as expats working in Singapore.

It was actually an invitation only access to the showflat too.

Stylishly designed and accessorised, the showflat was a showcase for how to make an apartment splendidly extravagant.  The theme was clearly modern luxury with a flavour of European extravagance.

From lush matching curtains and wall paper to renaissance inspired carpets and upholstery, the design recalls the ornate and lavish style that was very in vogue during the time of its launch

Acessorising was also well placed, with kitchen, dining table and bathrooms well planted with appropriately luxurious details. The colour coordination was great too - all matching with flowers, bedlinen and throw pillows.

One North Show flat

In the time of its launch, the One North project generated considerable interest and buzz. (http://www.onenorthresidence.com/)

The project was in the up and coming location of Buono Vista, opposite Rochester where many new restaurants have opened up, such as Graze.

Developed by UOL and Lau Kheng Huat, the condo has a border-less concept where there are no boundary walls.

By way of site planning and landscaping, the designers were able to create a secure environment yet still allowing public to assess the retail/commercial shops which was part of the development requirements.

Another new condominium that opened a few months after was The Rochester by United Engineers. I will be profiling that showflat in the coming updates...

The launch timing for One North was right - during the mid 2007 when there was alot of activity and interest in the property market. The units are majority of small bedroom units of one and two bed bedroom units. Target market is for the research staff from the nearby Fusionopolis and Biopolis.

The show flat was also nicely put together, albeit the usual modern fare that seem to bring in the crowds. The decor was simple and elegant, themed mostly in classic white with warm accessorising that make the feel liveably sleek and cosy at the same time.
